Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is tasked with ensuring the functionality and maintenance of equipment and building infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute maintenance and repair requests promptly
  • Assess and identify machinery or equipment requiring maintenance
  • Diagnose problems to ascertain necessary repairs
  • Organize repair tasks utilizing building schematics or equipment manuals as required
  • Conduct general maintenance activities, including drywall repairs, painting, and fixing doors and other fixtures
  • Carry out routine preventive maintenance on machinery and building systems
  • Ensure a tidy and safe working environment
  • Supervise external contractors' work when necessary
  • Undertake additional related tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in general carpentry and maintenance
  • Skilled in using hand tools and power tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills, mathematical ability, mechanical aptitude, and logical troubleshooting skills
  • Capable of thriving in a dynamic environment and transitioning between tasks as required
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on deadlines
  • Exceptional organizational and time management capabilities

Experience and Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in preventive maintenance or a related field
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Extended periods of standing and walking
  • Must be able to climb ladders, bend, or maneuver into tight spaces
  • Ability to navigate the property and facility to identify building issues and plan necessary repairs or maintenance
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment, such as gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, and hearing protection, while working in production areas
