Role Responsibilities
The Behavioral Psychologist plays a crucial role in the implementation and coordination of behavioral psychology services. This professional will provide training to staff and act as a technical consultant to both agency and provider personnel regarding behavior modification strategies. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting functional behavioral assessments, which encompass clinical observations, data collection, and the formulation of behavioral intervention plans;
- Collaborating with staff to ensure effective implementation of behavioral programs, reviewing documentation related to client progress, and making necessary adjustments;
- Training personnel in the application of behavior modification techniques;
- Overseeing Utilization Management tasks, including service authorization, ensuring medical necessity, and planning for client discharge when appropriate;
- Partnering with the Management Team and administration to develop and communicate program outcomes, along with strategies to achieve these goals.
Candidate Qualifications
- A Master's Degree in Psychology from an accredited institution, along with licensure or certification by the State of Michigan, is mandatory.
- Demonstrated education and experience in assessment, crisis intervention, and therapeutic care for cognitively impaired adults and individuals with substance use disorders.
- A minimum of one (1) year of professional experience in the behavioral health sector, specifically working with mentally impaired adults.

Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary for this position ranges from $64,467 to $83,265, depending on years of service with the agency, based on a standard 37.5-hour work week.

- A generous paid leave policy, with approximately 24.5 days off accrued in the first year, increasing with tenure;
- Scheduled annual salary increases after the first year of employment;
- 14 paid holidays annually, effective from the first day of employment;
