About the Role:

Blue Origin is a pioneer in space technology, dedicated to making humanity a multi-planetary species. As a Navigation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing on-board navigation software for crewed and uncrewed lunar vehicles, enabling advanced capabilities for Blue Origin's lunar missions.

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit at Blue Origin, where you will work on developing multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. The team is dedicated to building sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

As a Navigation Engineer, you will contribute to the development of optimal state estimation algorithms for navigation, collaborate in the development of navigation algorithms for various flight phases, and participate in testing and verification of navigation software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deploy embedded navigation software for lunar vehicles
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate navigation systems with other spacecraft components
  • Contribute to the development of navigation test programs and on-vehicle testing
  • Work with NASA and other partners to develop a transportation system that will bring humans back to the Moon

Requirements:

  • B.S. or M.S. in aerospace engineering or related field
  • Experience with state estimation algorithms and Kalman filters
  • Strong software development skills in C++ and MATLAB/Simulink
  • Operational knowledge of navigation sensors
  • Ability to contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
