Job Summary

As a Specialist IV at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, you will play a vital role in supporting the library's operations and services. This position requires a high level of independence and judgment, with a focus on maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Service Plus philosophy by providing exceptional customer service and responding to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Adhere to institutional and departmental safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Manage the library's serials collection, including receiving, checking in, and processing media for shelving and circulation.
  • Purchase library supplies, including selecting items from catalogs and vendors, communicating with the Lubbock Library Accounting Department, and receiving and processing orders.
  • Provide backup circulation and supervision of student assistants, including staffing the circulation desk and supervising student assistants as needed.
  • Meet regularly with the Unit Associate Director to discuss schedule and projects.
  • Process new books and other items, including receiving, shelving, and updating internal records.
  • Deposit checks and reconcile receipts for internal billing and interlibrary loan.
  • Receive and sort mail, ensuring timely delivery to staff members.
  • Act as Unit Safety Officer, maintaining a safe environment and ensuring compliance with safety training.
  • Oversee and maintain the branch's 3D printers and supplies.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent, plus 4 years of experience. Additional education may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
