Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Addiction Medicine Therapist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our Chemical Dependency department, you will provide comprehensive Chemical Dependency services to adults, adolescents, and significant others of CD patients under supervision.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Under the direction of a licensed clinical supervisor, you will perform the following tasks:
  • Answer and triage patient calls for information, treatment services, and general CD advice.
  • Respond to and appropriately handle crisis calls.
  • Identify the need for higher-level assessment, such as other non-CD diagnoses, danger to self or others, non-CD crisis evaluations, and emotional/family dysfunction.
  • Conduct intake and psychosocial assessments.
  • Develop and present treatment plans to the CDRP/S treatment team for recommendations, revisions, and approval.
  • Participate in clinical case conferences.
  • Conduct chemical dependency-focused educational lectures.
  • Provide general chemical dependency counseling, including individual and group counseling services.
  • May provide Adolescent, Significant Other, Family, and Multi-Family therapy under licensed supervision as assigned.
  • Provide case management services, including resource and referral coordination.
  • May perform mentor functions to Alcohol or Drug Certificate candidates as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of two (2) years supervised and related work experience in the field of chemical dependency treatment. Successful completion of a KP addiction medicine internship may be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Education:
  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or other field related to behavioral health.
  • License, Certification, Registration:
  • Associate Professional Clinical Counselor Registration (California) OR Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (California) OR Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker (California).
Additional Requirements:
  • Once hired as an Associate, you will be offered and must work a schedule that would accumulate at least half of the required supervisory hours annually.
  • Upon completion of supervised hours, you must obtain state licensure within two and one-half (2.5) years. If hired as a license-eligible employee, you have two and one-half (2.5) years from your date of hire to complete state licensure.
Notes:
  • May work in other AV MOBs within the service area. Position may include weekends.

Working Hours Start: 08:00 AM
