Addiction Medicine Fellowship Director

The Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a highly qualified Addiction Medicine Professor and Director to lead our Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program. This is an exciting opportunity to join a renowned institution and contribute to the development of the next generation of addiction medicine clinicians.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program, ensuring alignment with ACGME standards and institutional missions.
- Develop and implement a fellowship curriculum that emphasizes low-threshold MOUD services, addiction care, mental health services, and primary care, particularly for vulnerable populations in Milwaukee's most affected communities.
- Integrate social determinants of health into the fellowship's approach, ensuring that care delivery reduces health disparities and advances health equity in underserved areas.
- Provide full scope addiction medicine care and broader primary care services to people who use drugs (PWUD) at the Forest Home Health Center, as well as supervise inpatient consultation services at Froedtert Hospital.
- Precept and mentor fellows, residents, and medical students, developing their clinical and behavioral health skills in addiction medicine and fostering a compassionate, biopsychosocial approach to care.
- Teach and supervise fellows in their inpatient rounds and outpatient care, ensuring the program meets the educational goals of producing skilled, knowledgeable addiction medicine clinicians.
- Build and strengthen formal partnerships with key community organizations to create a collaborative network that extends addiction care beyond traditional healthcare settings.
- Engage in community-based initiatives to improve access to care for PWUD, particularly in the 53204 zip code, and develop programs that address housing, peer support, counseling, group therapy, and recovery services.
- Foster a culture of scholarly activity among fellows and faculty, promoting research, publications, and quality improvement projects that address the opioid crisis and addiction medicine practices.
- Ensure the program complies with all ACGME reporting and institutional policies, including timely documentation and verification of fellows' education and performance.
- MD or DO (foreign medical equivalent).
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Addiction Medicine.
- Graduation from an accredited residency program in Family Medicine.
- Leadership experience in addiction medicine and curriculum development, with a commitment to improving health equity and reducing health disparities.
