Electrical Engineer Job Description

As an Electrical Engineer with AutoCAD expertise, you will be responsible for managing incoming customer orders, including detailed review of layout and application of equipment, wiring and schematic development, component selection, and verification of applicable codes and standards. You will also reconcile pricing and lead time requests of incoming orders, using information supplied through proprietary pricing and configuration tool, order entry and invoicing system, and other communications from field sales and/or channel partners. Additionally, you will verify that the plant's manufacturing capabilities can support lead-time requests and communicate to and follow up through appropriate channels on any discrepancies and facilitate efficient downstream order processing. You will also prepare Manufacturing Information (MI) for panelboard configurations, utilizing proprietary pricing and configuration tool, AutoCAD, and Plant Order Manager as required. Furthermore, you will support field sales and channel partners on post order entry issues, such as change notice pricing, delivery quotations, Sales Engineer technical application assistance, and providing value-engineering solutions. You will also provide input to the price and bill-of-material configuration tool development team on design and pick table enhancements that help minimize front-end cycle time as well as improve quality and accuracy. You will also provide input to R&D department on new product application needs and designs as well as design refinements. You will interface with customers, channel partners, field sales, and order management functional team through participation in plant visits, training support, and customer events. You will exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position. You will ensure that all products and parts adequately meet Eaton's quality guidelines as they move throughout the production process. You will perform quality checks as instructed. You will receive and perform work assignments from management and internal customers to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner. You will closely follow established procedures for completing assigned function and perform special assignments and/or projects as assigned. You will comply with all safety and industrial hygiene requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. You will understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals. You will keep assigned work-area clean and organized per 5S standards. You will work with members of a team to effectively complete work assignment. You will receive information from team members regarding customer needs and product requirements and utilize this information to perform one's function. You will exhibit strong analytical and critical thinking skills to resolve any obstacles or delays that may occur in the production process. You will perform Lean Initiatives by recommending suggestions for improvement related to quality, work processes, and environmental safety and health.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated technical and application knowledge of panel boards.
