Job Summary

Polara Health is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at our Prescott, AZ location. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing hands-on care to individuals with mental health challenges and/or developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide front-line support and assistance to clients
  • Orient new clients to program rules, policies, and procedures
  • Organize and facilitate client activities, educational groups, and skill-building groups
  • Document client contacts and complete other forms required by program policy and procedure
  • Monitor client participation in program activities and report concerns to nursing staff
  • Model appropriate physical and emotional boundaries with clients and co-workers
  • Provide emotional support to help clients manage negative symptoms and utilize coping strategies
  • Conduct bed checks, rounds, and document accordingly
  • Monitor client self-administration of medications and check vital signs
  • Comply with security procedures to maintain a safe environment
  • Intervene proactively with clients in situations where they may be escalating emotionally and/or behaviorally
  • Attend and participate in shift reports, site meetings, and trainings as mandated by agency policy and procedure
  • Communicate effectively and promote quality service within a compassionate environment
  • Maintain a clean and orderly environment in all client, staff, and facility areas
  • Transport clients in company vehicles to meetings, appointments, and/or outings
Requirements
  • 21 years of age or older; or minimum 18 years old and licensed or certified under A.R.S. Title 32 and providing services within the personnel member's scope of practice; or minimum 18 years old for select administrative positions
  • AZDPS Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Valid Driver License
  • CPI and CPR/First Aid certification
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or minimum of a High School Diploma or GED and four years related experience
  • Strong ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle highly confidential information with professionalism
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting
  • Strong interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills
  • Detail-oriented, excellent organizational skills, and flexibility
  • Clinical competencies essential to effective job performance
  • Ability to learn and/or operate relevant computer operating system environments and office equipment
