Position Overview
As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost accounting, ensuring precise and timely financial reporting. Your key duties will include:
- Overseeing all accounts, ledgers, reporting systems, and accounting controls to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Enhancing the annual budgeting process and conducting monthly evaluations of departmental expenditures.
- Supervising external audits to ensure accuracy and prevent material misstatements.
- Preparing weekly financial reports and analyzing operational metrics.
- Reviewing work-in-process batches for accuracy, posting encapsulation/bottling fees, and evaluating rework costs.
- Maintaining sub-ledger activities, including inventory, work-in-progress, and bill of materials.
- Analyzing and updating encapsulation/bottling fees until labor rates are established.
- Collaborating with the Purchasing department on standard material cost adjustments.
- Partnering with Warehouse/Inventory Control on cycle counts and physical inventory assessments.
- Working alongside Supply Chain to minimize aged and obsolete inventory.
- Implementing and training the Production team on labor/material capture processes.
- Participating in initiatives aimed at reducing waste and material losses.
- Providing management with analytics and reports on manufacturing costs.
In summary, you will lead cost accounting functions, deliver timely and accurate financial reporting, and identify opportunities for enhancing financial performance.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in Accounting (including Cost Accounting)
- Experience with large ERP systems
- Background in manufacturing, food, or pharmaceutical industries
