Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Echocardiography Specialist to join our team at Healthcare Staffing Plus. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing echocardiography procedures on adult and pediatric patients, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images and accurate patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Perform echocardiography procedures on adult and pediatric patients, adhering to lab protocols and standard practices.
  • Review inpatient requisitions and prioritize patient lists based on severity of illness, special procedures, and equipment availability.
  • Perform quality control checks and ensure the procurement, storage, and routing of supplies for room operation.
  • Review patient information and orders at the time of the procedure, confirming the type of exam and appropriate diagnosis.
  • Download examination images and data into the PACS system, entering findings upon completion of the exam.
  • Mentor and evaluate ultrasound students as required, communicating technical and patient care-related information according to established processes and timelines.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or GED equivalency.
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP-approved school of ultrasound or cardiovascular technology or equivalent experience.
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or certification within one year of hire date.
  • BLS required upon hire - AHA American Heart Association.
Skills and Abilities
  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provision of utmost service excellence to all patients.
  • Ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving expertise.
  • A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and interact easily with physicians, other managers, and staff throughout the department and hospital.
