Position Overview: The Patient Care Technician plays a crucial role in delivering compassionate care to patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This position is integral to enhancing patient outcomes and ensuring a safe environment.

Work Schedule: Full-time, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care to an assigned group of individuals, utilizing foundational skills and knowledge.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) while considering the patient's age and cultural background.
  • Monitor and report on patients' conditions, activities, and needs to the supervising nurse in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Demonstrate specialized skills and knowledge relevant to the patient population.
  • Perform technical procedures as delegated by the licensed nurse, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
  • Document patient data according to hospital policies, including vital signs and treatment records.
  • Engage in quality improvement and educational activities to support unit and hospital goals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized patient environment, performing housekeeping duties as necessary.
  • Transport patients, supplies, and equipment as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of a Nurse Technician Training Program or a Certified Nursing Assistant Program is preferred.
  • Licensure: CPR Certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • Experience: 0 - 6 months of relevant experience in a healthcare setting.

Skills and Abilities: The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Working Relationships: This role involves direct interaction with patients and collaboration with healthcare professionals and staff.
