Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in Los Angeles, California.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians during surgical procedures by performing scrub duties, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
- Prepare and maintain operating room equipment, supplies, and instruments, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
- Transport patients, equipment, and specimens throughout the medical center, utilizing proper body mechanics and safety procedures.
- Participate in departmental performance improvement activities, identifying areas for simplification or correction, and contributing to systems improvement.
- Collaborate with the Registered Nurse to ensure effective patient care, addressing discharge barriers and implementing interventions as directed.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with patients, families, and healthcare team members, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures.
- Two (2) years of experience in operating room scrubbing or equivalent military experience, including a variety of surgical procedures.
- Graduate of an approved surgical technologist or military equivalent program.
- Surgical Technologist Certificate from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or National Center for Competency Testing Certificate - Technologist in Surgery.
- Basic Life Support certification.
