Job Summary

The Southern States LLC Crater Packer 5 is a critical role that requires a skilled and detail-oriented individual to fabricate and pack wooden crates or boxes for various products. As a Crater Packer 5, you will work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing hand and power tools to assemble and pack crates, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Crates Fabrication: Fabricate wooden crates or boxes using hand and power tools, adhering to specifications and quality standards.
  • Packing and Assembly: Pack and assemble crates with various products, ensuring secure and efficient packaging.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate band saw, table saw, and cut-off saw to cut wood and metal materials to size.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and ensure that crates meet quality standards, making any necessary repairs or adjustments.
  • Inventory Management: Count and verify inventory of materials and products, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain equipment and working area in a clean and orderly condition, adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, and use simple mathematical and geometric devices.
  • WorkKeys Ready: Applied Math – 4, Graphic Literacy – 4, Workplace Observation – 2.
