Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Endoscopy Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering patient care, implementing nursing standards, and collaborating with other healthcare disciplines to coordinate patient care activities.
Responsibilities:- Implement the Nursing Service standards of care and practice, as appropriate to the ages of the patients served and the areas of clinical practice.
- Utilize the nursing process in the systematic assessment and formulation of individualized plans of care to meet patients' needs.
- Collaborate with other healthcare disciplines to coordinate patient care activities and discharge plans.
- Inspect rooms to ensure they are ready for procedures, check patients' charts prior to procedures, and ensure correct instruments or equipment are selected.
- Responsible for calling time out before procedures, performing glucometer control tests, and interpreting abnormal/critical value BGM results.
- Utilize restraint alternatives, adhere to Patient Fall Policy and Protocol, and demonstrate use of two identifiers prior to performing medication administration, procedures/treatments, and collecting specimens.
- Provide pre-op care and patient instructions, and document post-op care.
- Currently licensed and registered to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York.
- Preferred 1-2 years of experience in O.R.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
