Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

United Cerebral Palsy Associations Inc is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for providing speech services to infants, children, and adults to facilitate communication. This includes conducting initial and periodic assessments, planning and implementing therapy sessions, and collaborating with other UCP disciplines to best meet the needs of individuals being served.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial and periodic speech and language assessments with individuals to determine current receptive and expressive communication skill levels, progress in meeting outcomes outlined on the IFSP/IEP/IPP plan, and potential augmentative communication needs.
  • Plan and implement therapy sessions based on assessment findings, provide suggestions for family/caregiver/teacher training on techniques to help meet individual needs, and respond to changing needs by making adjustments to the intervention plan.
  • Collaborate with other UCP disciplines serving each individual as needed to best meet their needs.
  • Maintain written documentation of visits and assessments, including completing and filing paperwork in a timely fashion according to department policy.
  • Participate in IFSP/IEP/IPP meetings upon request.
  • Maintain good communication with families, Regional Center Service Coordinators, school staff, UCP staff, and others working with individuals and their families.
  • Maintain current license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of California.
  • Adhere to Speech Language Pathology's Code of Ethics.
  • Participate in staff development and in-service education to learn new treatments, procedures, developmental skills, etc.
  • Participate in staff meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited speech language program and hold a current license to practice speech therapy in the State of California.
  • Obtain and maintain Infant/Child/Adult CPR and First Aid Certificate.
  • Must possess ability to read, write, and understand English. Strong oral and written communication skills are a must.
  • Must have ability to present information with clarity to all stakeholders orally and in written reports.
  • Knowledge and ability to work with mathematical concepts as appropriate to position.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other programs as needed in position.
  • Must possess a valid CDL and have a clean driving record as well as operate a vehicle in good working order for employee transportation.
  • Must have proof of ongoing auto insurance on personal vehicle.
