We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Large Loss Field Claims Adjuster to join our team at American Family Mutual Insurance Company. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for investigating and resolving complex property claims, ensuring that our customers receive fair and timely settlements.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate the origin and cause of high-exposure claims by contacting insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, and other relevant parties.
- Participate in High Damage Reviews (HDR) to address coverage issues and exposure.
- Handle both 1st party and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements.
- Conduct on-site inspections, evaluate damages, and handle claim negotiations with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and public adjusters.
- Respond to customer inquiries, make appropriate decisions, and close files.
- Interpret and determine policies, leases, by-laws, declarations, articles, and contract coverages and apply them to all parties for assigned losses.
- Make independent decisions but recognize when assistance is needed.
- Proactively provide all parties with the claim process and status as appropriate, answer questions, or redirect to other areas.
- Demonstrated ability to handle 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across our operating territories.
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively handle complex claims.
- Extensive knowledge of policies and endorsements coverages.
- Successfully applied knowledge of each phase of the claim handling process.
- Up to 50% travel required, including catastrophe travel up to 75% as applicable.
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces.
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
- Low temperatures.
- High temperatures.
- Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
- Noisy environments.
- Hazardous conditions.
- Poor ventilation.
- Small and/or enclosed spaces.
