Job Summary

Tao Group Hospitality is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Barback to join our team at the Crane Club Bar & Lounge in New York. As a Barback, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our bar, providing exceptional service to our guests, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stock and maintain bar inventories and supplies, ensuring that all necessary items are readily available.
  • Assist bartenders and cocktail servers in all aspects of guest service, including taking orders, serving drinks, and handling cash and credit transactions.
  • Interact with guests, fellow team members, and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Anticipate and accommodate the needs of guests in a timely manner, ensuring that their experience is exceptional.
  • Maintain general cleanliness of the bar, bar area, and the entire venue, adhering to Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
  • Follow supervisor's instructions, communicate with and support co-workers, and work as part of a team to achieve common goals.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures, including setting up the bar, performing side-work, and restocking supplies.
  • Assist bartenders in ensuring a high level of quality and speedy service, and maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
Requirements
  • Previous hospitality experience, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or nightclub environment.
  • Previous bar-backing experience, with a strong understanding of bar operations and inventory management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, move quickly, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work extended hours, irregular shifts, evening and/or weekend shifts, and holiday work may be required.
