Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of up to 10 direct reports, along with additional subordinates. Employ data-driven analytical tools to consistently evaluate operations, pinpoint inefficiencies, and formulate optimization strategies. Stay abreast of customs regulation changes, updating company policies and procedures to maintain compliance. Prepare necessary data for submissions and reporting related to customs filings. Address customer concerns with operations teams and devise strategies to enhance the customer experience. Monitor compliance performance metrics, generate reports for Senior Management, and develop strategic plans to adapt to potential schedule and policy changes. Guide and participate in customs compliance audits, both internal and external, and prepare relevant documentation to ensure adherence to current customs regulations. Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, promoting open communication, trust, and mutual respect among team members. Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support, conducting regular performance discussions to recognize achievements and address performance issues constructively. Oversee resource allocation in assigned areas to ensure sufficient staffing levels. Adhere to industry and organizational safety standards. Ensure that project and departmental objectives align with the overall goals of the organization and drive them to successful completion. Encourage team participation in continuous improvement initiatives.Required Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of import and export regulations, compliance, and supply chain principles. Strong leadership abilities to motivate teams, make informed decisions, and guide the organization towards operational objectives. High level of professional integrity, confidentiality, and accountability. Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams. Ability to adapt strategies or processes in response to a dynamic business environment. Proficient written and verbal communication skills to convey information and collaborate with stakeholders professionally. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills to make timely, data-driven decisions to enhance operational efficiency. Flexibility to manage peak period escalations, including weekends and fluctuating workloads. Proficiency in Oracle systems and Microsoft 365 applications is required. Lean Six Sigma certification is advantageous. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus. Additional Information This position is onsite, Monday through Friday, with potential weekend and peak period work; flexibility is essential.
