Job Summary

As a Home Visitor with Friends of Children and Families, you will play a vital role in enhancing and supporting parent-child relationships through our Early Head Start program. This program serves pregnant moms and families of infants and toddlers, providing individualized and comprehensive health and development services. You will partner with community agencies to promote and support families' achievement of self-sufficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct weekly home visits with families, integrating information on child development, health, nutrition, mental health, and social services.
  • Work with families to develop weekly individualized lesson plans, utilizing household materials in educational activities.
  • Complete 45- and 90-day health and education requirements.
  • Collaborate with other community agencies to provide individualized services for infants and toddlers with disabilities.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate group socialization experiences.
  • Provide prenatal and parenting information to expectant parents.
  • Document all services and follow-up treatment.
Requirements
  • Home Visitor CDA or an Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child Development, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Two years' experience working with parents, infants, and toddlers from diverse populations preferred.
  • An understanding of adult learning practices preferred.
  • Must pass a Health Physical Screen and TB test.
  • Must pass an enhanced criminal background check that meets required state, federal, and FOCAF Head Start standards.
  • Must pass drug test and submit to random drug and/or alcohol testing.
  • Complete and maintain certificates for Adult/Infant/Child CPR and First Aid.
