Job Title: Transportation Engineer I-IV for Bridge Construction and Maintenance

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer I-IV to join our Bridge Construction and Maintenance team at the Texas Department of Transportation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing complex bridge and structural engineering work, including designing, developing, and implementing bridge construction and maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex bridge and structural engineering work, including designing, developing, and implementing bridge construction and maintenance projects.
  • Diagnose and perform structural analyses of problems, determine cause, and develop solutions to a wide variety of bridge construction issues, defects, deterioration, and damage.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
  • Work with governmental officials and private entities to resolve issues and ensure successful project completion.
  • Develop and implement plans, specifications, estimates, and contracts for bridge construction and maintenance projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related science bachelor's or higher degree accepted by TX PELS.
  • 4-7 years of engineering, transportation engineering, or related engineering experience, depending on the level of the position.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive a state vehicle.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
