Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cheese Merchandiser to join our team at Busch's Inc. As a Cheese Merchandiser, you will be responsible for managing the deli department, including teaching and training department managers, improving sales, and optimizing associate productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and train department managers on effective display techniques, ordering processes, product utilization, selling techniques, and sanitation requirements.
  • Consistently focus on improving sales, sell-through, and optimizing associate productivity.
  • Work with operations on proper inventory controls, attaining acceptable margin and shrink results.
  • Work with the Operations and Category Management to develop and implement consistent merchandising techniques for the deli.
  • Monitor and ensure implementation and execution of the weekly merchandising notes.
  • Work with the Category Manager to implement new items and programs.
  • Determine when cheese departments are in need of complete or partial resets and work with the Category Manager and Operations team to complete reset.
  • Provide feedback to Operations in regards to store operations (quality issues, price, trends, competitive, and guest feedback).
  • Visit competitors on a regular basis and report findings.
  • Ensure recipes and weights are being followed.
  • Assist category and operations in determining perishable trends and needs for equipment and fixtures.
  • Evaluate all inventoried equipment after making recommendations on purchases.
  • Execute with operational integrity by anticipating problems, taking preventative measures, and adapting to changes that improve our operations or guest experience.
  • Consistently follow Busch's policies and procedures.
  • Share our passion for our products by being familiar with our products and services and actively seeking and sharing that information.
  • Contribute to organizational effectiveness by offering information, suggestions, and recommendations.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by completing educational opportunities, reviewing professional publications, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and networking.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years experience in retail management or store operations.
  • Proficient computer skills in Excel, Word, and email. Able to learn and use a variety of proprietary applications and technology.
  • Proficient merchandising skills to plan and execute displays designed to drive profit, create interest, perceived value, and suggest meal solutions.
  • Proficient management and leadership skills.
  • Proficient communication and interpersonal skills, including written, verbal, and listening skills.
  • Proficient category knowledge including food trends.
  • Proficient organization and planning skills, especially to manage multiple deadlines and projects.
  • Proficient mathematical skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient presentation skills, including confidence in getting up in front of people.
