Front Desk Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Front Desk Representative to join our team at Ameristar Casino Hotel East Chicago. As a key member of our front-line staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities- Provide friendly and efficient service to guests during check-in and check-out procedures.
- Make and confirm reservations, and assist guests with problems or questions.
- Obtain necessary information to guarantee rooms, including identification and credit card verification.
- Perform Front Desk, Call Center, and other hotel-related duties as needed.
- Keep Hotel Services Supervisor informed of any problems.
- Perform Night Audit duties and complete Flash Report in a correct and timely manner if assigned to the graveyard shift.
- Answer all reservation inquiries according to established guidelines, including assisting guests who warrant complimentary accommodations.
- Maximize resort revenues by selling reservations based on predetermined rate strategies.
- Accurately enter all reservations into the computer system according to departmental policy and procedure.
- Provide information to guests regarding local services and events.
- Assist the Player Development team with all reservations and requests.
- Perform group block management, including entering room lists, inventory control, coordinating casino reservations, checking resort room arrivals, and maintaining a professional relationship with all departments associated with the resort.
- Verify duties and examine work for accuracy, neatness, and adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Remain current on all casino activities and assist guests with all inquiries.
- Answer phone and assist with clerical tasks.
- High School Diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Hotel Front Desk experience preferred.
- Must have basic math and money handling skills.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills; must be fluent and literate in English.
- Must have ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities in a demanding work environment.
- Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues.
- Must have good problem-solving and reasoning skills.
