Job Title: Program Manager

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area (BGCAA) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Program Manager to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in shaping the lives of our young members and contributing to the success of our organization.

Job Summary

The Program Manager will assist the Club Director in overseeing the daily operations of the designated Clubhouse. This includes implementing quality programming, supervising and training staff, creating lesson plans, and evaluating programming activities to ensure their effectiveness. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging environment for our members and staff, and will work closely with the Club Director to achieve our organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement high-quality programs that meet the needs of our members
  • Supervise and train staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to deliver excellent programs
  • Assist the Club Director in maintaining staff by recruiting and training employees
  • Collaborate with Club staff and members to receive and provide information, discuss issues, and explain guidelines and instructions
  • Develop and maintain a positive and professional contact with external community groups, school administration, members' parents, and others
  • Ensure that BGCAA rules and policies are implemented and maintained
  • Provide guidance and role modeling to staff and club members
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must pass background check, reference check, and drug test
  • Must be able to work and interact professionally
  • Proficient with computer equipment
  • Ability to have adequate vision and hearing to ensure the safety of Club youth and complete data entry requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in education or related field
  • At least one year of relevant experience in an educational or childcare setting
  • 21+ years, hold a valid Texas Driver's License, personal insurance, and insurable through our organizational driver policy (may be required for some Club assignments)
  • Spanish speaking preferred
  • Exemplary written and spoken communication skills
  • Demonstrates dependability, accountability, and cooperation
Work Environment

The Program Manager will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, interacting with staff, members, and external partners on a daily basis. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will be comfortable with the physical demands of working with youth.
