Job SummaryWe are currently seeking an experienced RN to join our Transplant Cellular Therapy clinic as a support staff member for the providers. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in BMT oncology and be able to coordinate patient care, educate patients, and assess patient conditions. Responsibilities- Maintain adequate stock of supplies as required for work area and ensure a safe and secure environment for patients.
- Facilitate patient scheduling for all tests and visits, complete billing for all nursing procedures, including infusion therapy.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during physical exams and medical procedures, prepare patients for exams, chaperone physician visits, administer medications as prescribed, take and record patient vital signs using medical equipment, inspect equipment and facilities visually and physically to ensure patient safety and proper functioning.
- Obtain medical history from patients through structured interviews, document nursing assessment, document patient care interventions and education in medical records, obtain patient consents and authorizations as needed.
- Triage patient phone inquiries according to physician and/or departmental protocols, document inquiries and results in patients' medical records.
- Participate in evaluating nursing needs of patients, recommend policy and procedural changes, schedule patient appointments, tests, and procedures via on-line computer system or telephone.
