Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound and vascular procedures, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform ultrasound and vascular procedures in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  • Accurately identify and transport patients to and from the department.
  • Assume responsibility for image management and complete department-related Hospital Information System (HIS) and Radiology Information System (RIS) functions.
  • Respond to telephone inquiries and provide accurate information to customers of all age groups.
  • Instruct other radiological technologists, Sonographers, and students in ultrasound and vascular procedures.
  • Maintain supplies in the Sonography Area.
Requirements
  • Must be board eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer required at hire/transfer.
  • Must be certified as a RDMS in ABD, OB/GYN, Breast, and RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) within a 2-year period.
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and vehicle insurance required.
  • Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Provider - American Heart Association or Professional Rescuer-American Red Cross) prior to employment or within 30 days of hire and maintain current status.
  • Must provide proof of Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training prior to employment or within 6 months of hire and maintain current status per State of Iowa guidelines.
