Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will take on the role of a Relief Route Sales Representative, primarily responsible for:

  • Beginning the workday early, typically at 5 AM, and engaging in extensive driving.
  • Delivering products while actively promoting our popular brands and offerings on assigned routes.
  • Conducting service calls and addressing customer inquiries or issues promptly.
  • Utilizing a handheld device for transaction processing and customer data management, including ordering and inventory logging.
  • Overseeing inventory levels and ensuring the smooth operation of daily route activities.
  • Safeguarding company assets, including the collection of equipment and customer payments.
  • Interacting with store decision-makers to confirm deliveries and obtain necessary signatures.
  • Employing equipment such as carts and pallets to efficiently unload products and navigate the store.
  • Ensuring that backstock is organized and reaches the sales floor, while maintaining proper inventory in the back room.
  • Rotating products, managing the removal of defective or expired items, and processing returns as needed.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of shelves and displays, including the disposal of waste.
  • Assembling and disassembling promotional materials, such as signs and displays, to enhance product visibility.
  • Merchandising store displays to ensure accurate inventory, pricing, and date code rotation.

Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with at least one year of relevant experience, particularly in sales.
  • Experience in DSD or truck-to-store sales is highly desirable.
  • Strong verbal communication skills are essential.
  • A clean driving record and insurability are required.
  • The ability to work independently in various settings is important.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in data entry and mathematics are necessary.
Work Environment
  • This position may require adherence to specific safety protocols and the use of protective equipment when working around machinery or hazardous materials.
  • Physical demands include standing for extended periods, navigating slippery surfaces, and performing tasks that involve bending, lifting, and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs.
