Job Overview:
The Surveying Technician role involves executing topographic, GPS, construction, and various survey tasks as part of a field team.
This position is integral to the Property Office within the Maine Department of Transportation.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintenance and calibration of surveying instruments and vehicles.
- Editing tasks related to research and data entry in the Realty Management System (RMS).
- Processing survey data.
- Serving as the survey crew chief when necessary.
To qualify for this position, candidates must demonstrate the following experience:
- Five (5) years of experience in engineering,
- OR an Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field along with three (3) years of engineering experience,
- OR a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field with one (1) year of engineering experience.
Preference will be given to applicants with prior surveying experience.
