Surveying Technician

The Surveying Technician role involves executing topographic, GPS, construction, and various survey tasks as part of a field team.

This position is integral to the Property Office within the Maine Department of Transportation.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Maintenance and calibration of surveying instruments and vehicles.
• Editing tasks related to research and data entry in the Realty Management System (RMS).
• Processing survey data.
• Serving as the survey crew chief when necessary.

To qualify for this position, candidates must demonstrate the following experience:

• Five (5) years of experience in engineering,
• OR an Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field along with three (3) years of engineering experience,
• OR a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field with one (1) year of engineering experience.

Preference will be given to applicants with prior surveying experience.
