About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Engineer to join our team of experts responsible for securing critical networks and systems. This individual will be tasked with planning, designing, and architecting multi-technology cyber solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the security engineering subject matter expert responsible for the development, presentation, and implementation of sound recommendations for remediation.
  • Investigate root causes of security issues, perform troubleshooting, and resolve problems to restore services.
  • Provide guidance and support security activities while building relationships with key personnel.
  • Document and inform management about security information and event management.
  • Remotely manage and troubleshoot workstations and servers.
  • Conduct research and analysis in support of expanding programs and areas of responsibility.
  • Evaluate information assurance and security requirements based on user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands.
  • Apply knowledge to government and commercial common user systems, as well as dedicated special purpose systems requiring specialized security features and procedures.
  • Analyze security features for system architectures.
  • Manage and coordinate tasks.
  • Provide expertise on NIST, FISMA, Agency Information Security and Privacy, and Cloud Guidelines.
Requirements
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust government security clearance.
  • Possess a 4-year college degree in Computer Science or a related field and 3-5 years' experience, or 5 years' experience in lieu of a college degree.
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH) experience is highly desired.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills for security information and event management.
  • At least 5 years of security experience, including at least 2 years directly engaged with security engineering activities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Familiarity with NIST, FISMA, and Cloud Environments.
  • Security+ Certification.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000, depending on experience and qualifications. CVP offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
