Job Title: Part-Time Clinical Nursing Faculty

Chamberlain University is seeking a part-time clinical nursing faculty member to teach students in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at our Indianapolis campus.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified nursing professional to join our team as a part-time clinical nursing faculty member. As a clinical instructor, you will be responsible for mentoring students in an inpatient clinical setting, providing guidance and support to help them develop their clinical skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system, and profession.
  • Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads.
  • Plan clinical experiences for and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering nursing care to an individual or group of individuals.
  • Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on their level of performance based on course objectives.
  • Be available for remediation of students as required or needed.
  • Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with the assistance of the agency/clinical personnel.
  • Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with students' knowledge base, skill competency, and individual learning needs.
  • Correct and return homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and the College.
  • May teach didactic course content under the supervision of a course coordinator.
  • Keep course coordinators informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
  • Work with college administration, staff, and other faculty members to improve the overall operation of the college and student satisfaction rates.
  • Participate in the implementation of the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and both departmental and campus policies.
  • Serve as a professional role model for other faculty, staff, and students in the areas of customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, dress, attendance, and general professionalism.
  • Utilize relationship skills in situations requiring group problem solving, consensus building, and win-win negotiation.
  • Comply with all applicable regulatory rules and standards.
  • Report to the dean or assistant dean, with a course coordinator providing direct oversight.
  • Handle related duties as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.
Qualifications:
  • A Master's in Nursing (MSN) or doctoral degree (DNP/PhD) in nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • An unencumbered Indiana nursing license.
  • Active BLS Certification.
  • At least three years of professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse.
