ROLE OVERVIEW AND OBJECTIVES

The Senior Manager of FMC Insights is responsible for providing strategic guidance and analytical expertise concerning consumer data assets. This role collaborates closely with teams in Insights & Foresights, Consumer Marketing, Trade Marketing, Revenue Growth Management, and Activation.

This position plays a crucial role in understanding consumer behavior within the nicotine sector, encompassing products such as Cigarettes, Vapor, and Oral items. The manager will analyze shopper behavior, consumer journeys, and attitudes to foster growth in volume and profitability. The role adds significant value by leveraging a deep understanding of the nicotine market and integrating a consumer-centric approach to align with corporate goals.

The incumbent will engage in both departmental and cross-functional initiatives and will be recognized as a mentor and source of inspiration among peers.

The role demands a consistent challenge to existing norms and a commitment to continuous improvement throughout the organization. Strong credibility and effective leadership, influencing, and presentation skills are essential.

Reports to: Director of FMC Insights

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

Internal - Collaborates with Insights & Foresights, Consumer Marketing, Trade Marketing, Growth Management, and Activation teams.

External – Engages with third-party vendors such as MRI Simmons, Kantar, IRI, and Numerator.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Up to 10%

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develops and executes primary research and analysis to deliver actionable business insights.
  • Enhances planning processes to integrate consumer insights across key organizational collaborators.
  • Identifies critical topics for in-depth analysis to support corporate objectives, including Portfolio Management, Segmentation, Consumer Profiles, and Shopper Journeys.
  • Coordinates internal and vendor resources to produce impactful analyses on designated topics.
  • Implements reporting activities to ensure timely and actionable business outcomes.
  • Seeks innovative sources to optimize consumer data integration.
  • Fosters a culture of collaboration and innovation to enhance decision-making processes.
  • Communicates findings effectively to stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE

  • 5+ years in consumer market research or a related field, preferably in CPG.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data trends and deliver actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to identify business opportunities and influence execution in Sales and Marketing.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work cross-functionally.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication, data visualization, and presentation skills.
  • Strong storytelling capabilities with actionable recommendations.
  • Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative consumer survey methodologies.
  • Experience in vendor management and survey design.
  • Proficient in commercial tools and software such as IRI/Nielsen, Microstrategy, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong technical skills in mathematics and statistics.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Market Research, Business, or a related field is preferred.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of statistical software such as SPSS, SAS, or R.
  • Experience with survey programming tools like Qualtrics.
