Lead Caregiver Job Description

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a compassionate and experienced Lead Caregiver to join our team. As a Lead Caregiver, you will be responsible for providing supervisory support to our Care Managers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and services to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide supervisory support to Care Managers, including taking attendance, managing call-offs, and sending open shift messages.
  • Support team members in providing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) care and services to residents, including bathing, grooming, and personal care.
  • Encourage personalized and meaningful resident participation in life enrichment programming and ADLs.
  • Accurately document care and services provided to residents, reviewing care manager documentation throughout the shift.
  • Ensure compliance with Sunrise's Timekeeping and Meal/Rest Period policies, monitoring team member break schedules and durations.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED strongly preferred and may be required per state regulations.
  • Ability to read, write, communicate effectively with Care Managers, Community Managers, residents, and family members.
  • Medication Management Certificate required; ongoing training and re-education per Sunrise and state requirements.
  • Previous experience working with seniors and desire to serve and care for seniors.
  • Demonstrates leadership competencies, including the ability to delegate assignments, make choices, and act in the residents' best interest.
