Responsibilities of a Hospice Support Volunteer

Hospice support volunteers offer vital assistance to families both before and after a patient's passing. They engage in various activities that enhance the comfort and quality of life for patients and their families. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Providing regular companionship to patients and relief for family members
  • Assisting with transportation for patients and family members to appointments and social events
  • Helping with light household tasks when fatigue or financial constraints arise
  • Staying with patients to allow primary caregivers time to rest or socialize
