Job Details: This full-time position involves working closely with an IEP team to assess and support approximately 30 students. You will be responsible for creating and implementing effective educational strategies that cater to the linguistic and academic requirements of each student.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver ESL instruction to Spanish-speaking students, incorporating special education methodologies to enhance their learning experience.
- Collaborate with the IEP team to evaluate student requirements, establish eligibility, and determine service minutes.
- Design and execute individualized education plans (IEPs) that address the specific linguistic and educational challenges faced by students.
- Develop engaging instructional materials and activities that foster academic growth.
- Work in partnership with general education teachers, parents, and other educational staff to promote student success.
- Track and document student progress, making necessary adjustments to instructional approaches.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, ESL, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid state certification in Special Education and ESL (or equivalent credentials).
- Proficiency in Spanish is essential.
- Experience with multilingual students and familiarity with effective practices in ESL and special education.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively with an IEP team and modify instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs.
