Job Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is tasked with executing a variety of essential maintenance activities both inside and outside of the building premises. This role encompasses responsibilities such as cleaning, sweeping, waxing, painting, and performing carpentry and repair tasks. The technician will also manage the upkeep of parking lots, restrooms, and communal areas, alongside engaging in manual labor for general custodial duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and adhere to work orders and procedures as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness by sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and showers, while ensuring restocking of necessary supplies.
  • Clean mirrors and windows to maintain a pristine environment.
  • Oversee the exterior grounds by watering plants, mowing lawns, and cleaning entryways.
  • Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as replacing broken switches and fixing door handles.
  • Report significant damages and coordinate necessary repairs.
  • Ensure security of the facilities after hours by locking doors, closing windows, and activating alarm systems.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Ability to read and follow work orders and procedures effectively.
  • Strong time management skills to achieve set goals and tasks.
  • Customer service orientation with a professional demeanor.
  • Experience in custodial or janitorial roles is preferred.
  • Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment and maintenance practices.
  • Basic knowledge of landscaping and handyman skills.
  • Attention to detail and a conscientious work ethic.
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
Physical Requirements:
  • This position involves light work, requiring walking or standing for extended periods and the ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force regularly.
