Job Summary
The Texas Association of Counties seeks a highly skilled and experienced Patient Care Service Director to lead the medical surgical and progressive care units. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in nursing leadership and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 24/7 direction and oversight of patient care services in the medical surgical and progressive care units.
- Collaborate with staff, physicians, and nurse administrators to ensure patient needs are met and hospital policies are interpreted and implemented effectively.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes, satisfaction, and safety.
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of nursing staff.
- Manage and maintain accurate records and reports related to patient care and unit operations.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited registered school of nursing, BSN preferred.
- Successful completion of an arrhythmia course.
- Three (3) or more years of previous experience in trauma emergency care and a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse with the State of Texas.
- Current BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of medications and pharmacology at a level appropriate to the scope of licensure and professional expertise.
- General practice medicine and medical terminology.
- Standard diagnostic and medical equipment and instruments.
- Proficient computer skills.
