Your Impact:

The ideal candidate for the Citizen Screw Set up Level Machinist position will possess outstanding manufacturing expertise, alongside a solid background as a Citizen Type Swiss Programmer/Machinist. Familiarity with Citizen A-20 and A-32 machines is essential, as is a commitment to contributing to a world-class manufacturing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and program Citizen A-20 and A-32 machines.
  • Monitor operations of the screw machine, adjusting speed, feed rates, or tool positions to ensure compliance with blueprint specifications.
  • Utilize standard measuring tools to verify the conformance of finished workpieces to specifications.
  • Work with small components and maintain close tolerances (+/-.0001).
  • Develop CNC programs manually or through software such as Mastercam, Partmaker, or Espirit.
  • Ensure complete traceability of work in accordance with ISO 9001 procedures.
  • Achieve job standard times with minimal oversight.
  • Identify production issues and communicate them effectively to supervisors.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Interpret manufacturing and engineering drawings accurately.
  • Apply knowledge of G and M codes; experience with Mastercam or PartMaker is advantageous.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols established by the company, including proper equipment usage.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years' experience in programming and setting up Swiss Type Screw Machines (Citizen, Star, Tsugami).
  • Ability to work independently, follow detailed instructions, and maintain focus for extended periods.
  • Proficient in using basic measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.).
  • Mechanically inclined with strong manual dexterity.
  • Capability to inspect parts using a microscope.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least five years of CNC Swiss Type Lathe experience.
  • Demonstrated planning and follow-through skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft applications.
  • Strong mathematical skills and aptitude.
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Completion of vocational or college training in machining (Certificate of Completion in basic machining course).

Work Environment:

A significant portion of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures may fluctuate. The environment may include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and coolant vapors. The company provides industry-standard safety equipment, and specific notices are posted in areas where safety gear is required.

Compensation and Benefits:

Employee Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, long-term disability, and a 401(k) plan with up to a 6% company match.

Compensation Range: The Swiss Machinist compensation range for onsite applicants is $23-26/hr, based on experience. Shift differentials may apply for certain shifts. Compensation ranges may vary by location.
