Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled ED Technician to join our team at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and working in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role:

  • This role involves providing direct and indirect patient care activities, including physical care needs and environmental support, under the direction of the RN.
  • The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing, analyze simple issues, and solve them with direction.
  • This position requires one year of related technical job experience and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities:

Patient Care Needs
  • Obtains O2 saturation via pulse oximeter and applies O2 therapy via nasal cannula.
  • Performs initial application and re-application of telemetry monitor leads and electrodes, as well as 12 Lead EKG's as directed.
  • Assists with comfort measures, including answering lights and toileting, and assists with patient positioning.
  • Demonstrates ability to respond productively in a variety of emergency situations.
Unit Environment
  • Responsible for department ordering and stocking, checking equipment and supplies, and restocking/preparing patient unit cubicles.
  • Assists with general cleaning of the department and keeps hallways clear, storing carts, equipment, etc., in appropriate storage areas.
Approach to Job Performance/Cooperation/Motivation
  • Demonstrates commitment to work collaboratively with other healthcare team members to facilitate and promote desired patient outcomes.
  • Performs responsibilities in a self-directed and cooperative manner, using time constructively and organizing assignment for maximum productivity.
