Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Adult Emergency Department. As an Emergency Department Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions and outstanding patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients presenting to the Emergency Department, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and education.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure accurate handovers and promote safe care transitions.
  • Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues, ensuring efficient use of resources and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Update and manage patient records accurately and efficiently, using computerized data systems as needed.
  • Enter and interpret relevant computerized data/information to inform clinical decision-making.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and adhere to established guidelines and policies.
  • Assist the leadership team in developing and implementing quality improvement projects.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • 1+ years of ED or ICU experience required.
  • TNCC certification preferred but required by the end of department orientation.
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) required for certain units.
  • Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred), ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
  • Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Fluency in another language a plus.
