Position Overview

Work Schedule

This role is primarily expected to be performed onsite, with the option for one day of remote work each week. The candidate should be prepared for local and regional travel, including occasional evening and weekend commitments.

Role Summary

The Admissions Consultant plays a crucial role in crafting and executing recruitment strategies, outreach initiatives, and projects within the admissions framework for Minnesota Independence College and Community (MICC) Programs, aimed at fulfilling enrollment objectives. Travel may be necessary for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, track, and meet annual recruitment targets for designated programs, ensuring consistent follow-up with prospects, systematic tracking methods, and generating reports on inquiries and applicants.
  • Design and execute recruitment strategies and activities to engage and attract potential applicants, including participation in local and regional events.
  • Facilitate organizational growth by planning, executing, and assessing the admissions and enrollment processes for prospective participants.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to establish best practices for the Admissions department.
  • Work closely with fellow Admissions team members and staff from various departments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Effectively communicate the mission and vision of MICC to prospective students, families, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Oversee the admissions pipeline from initial inquiry to application and beyond, utilizing administrative software and strategic communication methods, including in-person meetings, phone calls, direct mail, and digital outreach.
  • Conduct campus tours (both in-person and virtual) for prospective participants, families, professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Guide prospective participants and their families through the admissions process, ensuring clarity regarding criteria.
  • Lead and mentor volunteer student ambassadors and develop related programming.
  • Implement and oversee a family ambassador program.
  • Represent MICC at college fairs, recruitment events, and with external partners (this may involve travel during the fall and throughout the year, including some evenings and weekends).
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to diverse groups of prospective students, families, professionals, and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of events aimed at enhancing enrollment, such as campus visits, shadow days, admit days, and orientation activities.
  • Complete routine administrative tasks and reports related to recruitment, enrollment, projections, personal scheduling, travel, special programs, and professional development.
  • Generate reports and maintain dashboards as requested by the Admissions Manager.
  • Assist in tracking and managing admissions and enrollment materials.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Non-Profit Administration, Communications, Education, Public Speaking, Marketing, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Two to four years of relevant work experience in outreach or similar roles is required.
  • Must be willing to travel overnight and possess a valid driver's license.
  • A passion for working in an environment that supports individuals with learning differences and autism is a plus.
  • Experience with database management and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar applications is required.
