Outage Scheduler Role

We are seeking an Outage Scheduler to develop and maintain detailed outage schedules for the Palisades Nuclear Plant in Covert, MI. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of nuclear generation principles and operations, as well as excellent communication and conflict management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain detailed outage work schedules
Develop and maintain detailed testing and retest schedules and maintain resource loading profiles
Interface with work group representatives to level resources using selected profiles
Review specific scope of work orders and make recommendations for scheduling
Develop 'what if' schedules and perform analysis with working groups to determine the most effective method of scheduling the work
Identify support activities and add these activities to the schedule
Update work management and scheduling software programs
Provide reports to define work scope
Coordinate with Operations to determine the scope of tagging system boundaries
Update progress on schedules during execution
Conduct critical path analysis for outage schedules
Assist with development of post work critiques
Facilitate the interface between multiple work groups
Identify deficiencies, analyze alternatives and recommend solutions to schedule conflicts
Recommend changes to existing methods, procedures and processes to improve overall outage activities
Communicate technical information, concepts and ideas both verbally and in writing
Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization

Requirements

Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operations
Outstanding communication and conflict management skills
Proficiency with current computer business applications
At least 1 year of nuclear power plant experience for Scheduler I, 3 years for Scheduler II, and 4 years for Scheduler Sr
Desired: 2 years' experience in Maintenance, Production or Operations at the facility
