Position Overview

The primary role of the Industrial Maintenance Specialist is to ensure the maintenance department operates efficiently to minimize equipment downtime and enhance the longevity of machinery at our facility. This position involves the fabrication, calibration, reconditioning, and repair of tools and equipment utilized in various manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and rectify issues with machinery, including pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Provide comprehensive mechanical and electrical support to plant machinery and equipment.
  • Fabricate components and safety devices for equipment as required.
  • Repair or replace electrical wiring and fixtures using appropriate tools.
  • Assemble, install, and maintain electrical systems and components, ensuring safety and compliance.
  • Conduct tests on electrical systems to verify functionality and safety.
  • Utilize various tools and equipment for maintenance tasks, including power tools and testing devices.
  • Plan and execute the installation of electrical systems based on specifications and regulations.
  • Inspect electrical systems to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of corrective action plans for maintenance issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as directed by management.
  • Assist in the training and development of junior maintenance staff.
  • Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records.
  • Adhere to safety and regulatory standards in all maintenance activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and participate in training programs as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a minimum of 6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Possession of a journeyman's card or completion of a relevant training program.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of production processes and quality control measures.
  • Familiarity with mathematical concepts and their applications in maintenance tasks.
  • Experience with machinery and tools, including maintenance and repair techniques.
  • Proficiency in computer usage, particularly in a Windows-based environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Capability to analyze operations and implement improvements.
  • Strong recordkeeping and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
