Electrical Technician

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and test electrical circuits for various electrical accessories, including lighting, automatic salting controls, sensors, and switches.
• Utilize prints and diagrams of electrical systems in truck build-up processes, ensuring accurate and efficient installation.
• Collaborate with the manager to assess assigned jobs and identify required parts and materials for build-up.
• Develop and maintain effective communication with customers, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
• Work cooperatively with colleagues to identify and implement process improvements, enhancing overall efficiency and productivity.

Requirements:

• General comprehension of and experience in the truck build-up process.
• General understanding of truck components and electrical circuits, including knowledge of laws of current flows as it relates to voltage drop in determining wire size required in various circuits.
• General mechanical aptitude and ability to work alone with minimal or no supervision.
• Must have a complete set of hand tools and be able to read and comprehend written instructions, diagrams, schematics, and prints.
• Knowledge of computers and various software programs is desirable, as is knowledge of on-board truck computer controls, including electrical multiplexing and CAN Bus systems.
• Great attitude and desire to work with others, along with good communication skills, written and oral.
