About the Role:
We are looking for an individual with a strong background in field construction tasks to fill this role. As a Damage Prevention Technician, you will be responsible for locating underground facilities, analyzing blueprints, and identifying potential problem areas. You will work closely with clients, engineers, and management to ensure the integrity of our network and company property.

Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot network equipment and remove/replace defective units.
  • Analyze blueprints to determine construction project locations and identify utilities such as water, sewer, gas, cable, oil, and electric lines.
  • Document interactions, site information, and utilities in organizational software.
  • Communicate with clients, engineers, and management to ensure seamless operations.
  • Use various techniques (electrical, magnetic, GPS, blueprint analysis, and/or radar) to measure utilities and pinpoint their coordinates.
  • Proactively identify potential problem areas to ensure network integrity and company property.
  • Maintain tools, test sets, and network equipment.
  • Inspect cabinets, buried cable, construction sites, and outdoor facilities in various environments and weather conditions.
  • Evaluate vendor/contractor performance and engage with them to resolve issues.
  • Work in individual and team environments to achieve common goals.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-1 years of relevant experience in field construction tasks preferred.
  • Proficiency in computers, cell phones, test equipment, Microsoft Windows operating system, and Office applications required.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 100 pounds required.
  • Previous experience in site development, underground installations, utility locating, fiber optic cable builds preferred.
  • Operate on-call 24/7/365 on a rotating schedule, including standby, call out, dispatch, and overtime as required by the business.
  • Familiarity with personal safety policies and procedures required.

Estimated Salary Range: $18.75-$25.00 USD/hour based on location and experience.
