Magnetic Resonance Imaging Specialist Staten Island

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Magnetic Resonance Technologist to join our team at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating Magnetic Resonance Imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images and performing procedures according to established standards and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately utilize the PACS system to make images available to radiologists for interpretation with minimal exceptions.
- Enter proper exam coding in the Radiology Information System and complete exams in a timely fashion.
- Assist in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies, reporting any equipment problems or malfunctions to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Instruct and supervise radiography students in clinical practicum, working with students to perform exams and evaluating individual images.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including operating MRI equipment to take diagnostic images of specific body areas and producing diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation.
- Prepare and position patients properly, providing clear and concise instructions regarding the procedure before beginning an exam, and ensuring quality review of images falls within departmental SOP guidelines.
- Practice safety protocols with regard to patient and employee safety when in range of the magnetic field, ensuring MRI safety protocols are practiced.
Requirements:
- Technical Diploma from an AMA-approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services.
- New York State Radiologic Technologist License or New York State Radiologic Technologist Temp Permit.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Advanced Certification in MRI required within 180 days of hire or transfer.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills, as well as basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Radiology Program or related Health field.
- Years of MRI technologist or training experience.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $95,000 to $106,399 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
