Magnetic Resonance Imaging Specialist Staten Island/Bard Ave Monday

We are seeking a skilled Magnetic Resonance Technologist to join our team at NYU Langone Health in Staten Island/Bard Ave. This is a Monday position.
Job Summary:
The Magnetic Resonance Technologist will operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images and perform procedures according to established standards and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately utilize the PACS (Picture Archival System) to make images available to the radiologist for interpretation with minimum number of exceptions.
- Enter proper exam coding in the Radiology Information System and arrive and complete exams in a timely fashion.
- Assist in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment and supplies. Report any equipment problems or malfunctions to the supervisor in a timely fashion.
- Instruct and supervise radiography students in clinical practicum. Work with the radiography student to perform exams as well as performing individual image evaluation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Operate MRI equipment to take diagnostic images of specific body areas as ordered. Produce diagnostic images for interpretation by the radiologist.
- Prepare and position patients properly and provide clear and concise instructions regarding the procedure before beginning an exam. Ensure quality review of the images fall within the guidelines of departmental SOP.
- Practice safety protocols with regard to patient and employee safety when in range of magnetic field. Ensure MRI safety protocols are practiced.
Requirements:
- Technical Diploma Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services.
- New York State Radiologic Technologist License or New York State Radiologic Technologist Temp Permit.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Advanced Certification in MRI required within 180 days of Hire or transfer.
- Strong communication (both written and oral), problem solving, and customer service skills.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor s Degree In Radiology Program or related Health field years MRI technologist or training experience.
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
