Job Summary:

The Technical Sales Engineer will provide pre-sales engineering support to our Area Sales Managers for Capital Sales. This role will involve working closely with our engineering groups and project management teams to deliver the strongest projects and project flow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the sales group with technical, engineering, process, and application knowledge.
  • Manage opportunities in CRM and develop sales drawings, including process flow diagrams and equipment layouts.
  • Generate and validate material mass balances, heat transfers, and utility requirements for equipment and process selection.
  • Prepare technical quotations for equipment, systems, and projects to meet customer needs.
  • Participate in proposal and project discussions with customers.
  • Work closely with engineering groups and project management to ensure project success.
  • Act as a liaison between salesmen, customers, and internal stakeholders, including engineering, service, and project management.
  • Specify buyout equipment and secure quotations from outside vendors.
  • Follow up on new customer leads and participate in plant visits for field measurements and site assessments.
  • Evaluate processes and applications, proposing suitable solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Generate layouts and drafts, and collaborate with Haarslev entities worldwide to leverage knowledge and experience.
  • Perform pre-project site evaluations and 3D scanning, and prepare product quotes for the sales group.
  • Aid Area Sales Managers in following various processes and produce and maintain 3D layouts containing complete project equipment overview.
  • Perform 3D scans at customers' sites, make and update PIDs, and assist with improving efficiency and accuracy of the Sales Configurator tool.
  • Help implement and develop sales processes and develop responsibility matrices for customer proposals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Strong understanding of processing systems and engineering.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish a strong working relationship with internal and external stakeholders based on trust.
  • Two-year technical degree with relevant experience.
  • Skilled at MS Office.
  • Experience with AutoCad.
  • Ability to travel 25%.
