Position Summary: The Facilities Operations Technician plays a crucial role in executing a wide range of responsibilities to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various building and facility systems and equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, HVAC systems, lighting setups, security installations, and ensuring the overall safety and aesthetic of the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of buildings and facilities.
  • Conduct preventive and routine maintenance on machinery, buildings, and grounds as necessary.
  • Enhance equipment longevity and minimize the risk of operational failures.
  • Supervise and support third-party contractors, including specialists in HVAC, lighting, fire alarms, and security systems.
  • Identify and report any operational issues, defective materials, or safety concerns to management.
  • Execute emergency and unscheduled repairs for buildings and facilities.
  • Interpret equipment manuals and work orders to carry out necessary maintenance and services.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform additional tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong skills in decision-making, problem-solving, multitasking, prioritizing, and time management.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks including carpentry, plumbing, masonry, basic electrical work, painting, facilities layout, and janitorial duties.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and power tools relevant to the required skills.
  • Capability to read and interpret technical drawings, sketches, and manufacturer instructions.
