Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist is a vital member of the healthcare team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support in a hospital setting. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to diagnose and treat patients with respiratory disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and assess the function of oxygen and therapeutic gas delivery systems.
  • Set up and monitor ventilators, ensuring proper function and patient safety.
  • Provide aerosolized medication and other respiratory therapies as prescribed by physicians.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures, including arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, and nitric oxide pulmonary hypertension studies.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved school of respiratory therapy.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • State of Missouri licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
