Job Summary

As a Respiratory Therapist Lead at SSM Health, you will be responsible for providing exceptional respiratory care to pediatric patients, assessing their needs, and implementing appropriate treatment plans. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our young patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate shift operations, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of respiratory care services.
  • Serve as a technical and clinical resource, providing guidance and support to staff members.
  • Assign, monitor, and review progress of work, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Oversee and evaluate the orientation and training of assigned associates, providing input in the review and evaluation of staff performance.
  • Perform the duties of a Respiratory Care Practitioner, providing initial assistance for those needing emergency intervention.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the respiratory care team.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent years of experience and education.
  • Two years' experience in respiratory care, with a strong background in pediatric respiratory care.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner registration from the relevant state licensing authority.
