Meteorologist - KPTV

Job Summary:

Gray Television, Inc is seeking a skilled Meteorologist to join our team at KPTV. As a key member of our First Alert Weather Team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive weather coverage for our newscasts, streaming updates, digital, and social content.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze raw scientific data, models, and other available information to create accurate weather forecasts for our viewing area
• Develop compelling, conversational presentations of weather forecasts for broadcast, streaming, digital, and social media audiences
• Identify and communicate the "weather story of the day" to a cross-platform audience
• Accurately forecast and track severe weather

Requirements:

• At least years of experience as a broadcast meteorologist preferred
• Operational radar knowledge and excellent command of the TWC MAX system preferred
• BS/BA in Meteorology/Atmospheric Science/Communications/Journalism or equivalent background
• Seals of the National Weather Association and/or American Meteorological Society are preferred, but not necessary
• Flexibility with respect to scheduling and/or assigned work shifts, especially considering the unpredictable nature of weather events
• Proficiency in producing written weather content for our digital platforms
